Cruyff Finals at Anfield

Both Year 7 boys and Girls represented Liverpool College and Everton Football Club today in the Cruyff Finals at Anfield. There were many teams from all over the UK, representing Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool and Aberdeen. A fantastic effort from both teams with the boys ending up as runners up to Arsenal. The girls after beating Aberdeen dominated many matches without scoring until the Final match where they beat Arsenal 1-0.

All pupils represented the College wonderfully, their behaviour and manners were superb throughout the tournament.

Many thanks to Adam a former school’s direct trainee and Liverpool College parents for their support and giving up their time. If it wasn’t for their help in supporting the pupils, today would never have happened.  Justin Cook

Say Hello to the Boarding Prefects

Our own local elections took place last week for Head Boy and Head Girl of Boarding at Liverpool College.  Candidates impressed fellow-boarders  with presentations on why they should be elected as representatives for boarding and the four pictured:

From left : Daniil (Moldova),  Eva (Estonia), Corina (Romania)  and Dan (Isle of Man) were successful. Eva and Dan also  become Gladstone Scholars while all four will automatically become College Prefects..  It seems that what boarders want is someone  who can organise weekend activities or come up with great ideas as well as someone they can take their problems to, whether it’s a maintenance issue or something more personal that needs resolving and this quartet were tops with our boarders.

Next September, boarders are moving into new, en-suited accommodation on the Derby and Rathbone site at Liverpool University, just a stroll across the road to school  and they are already packing up their clothes, files and teddy bears in anticipation!
