Foundation Stage

The Foundation Stage, which encompasses Nursery and Reception, follows the Early Learning Goals which are reached by a series of stepping stones. Our aim is for all our children to achieve these Goals and this they do at their own rate. The six areas of learning are:- communication, language and literacy; personal, social and emotional development; mathematical problem solving, reasoning and numeracy; knowledge and understanding of the world; physical development and creative development. Throughout the school the emphasis is on the all round development of the individual and a mixture of form, group and individual teaching is employed. Small classes ensure plenty of individual attention for the children. We aim to promote independence, confidence, self-esteem and self-respect in the children and provide a safe, caring environment where all children feel happy, secure and valued.
