Lower Schools Parliament - Junior Lord Mayor

School Council members enjoy taking part in the Lower Schools Parliament meetings. On Wednesday 19th October, the year 4 and 5 school council reps, along with Adriana W from year 6, went to the Town Hall for the next meeting of the Liverpool Lower Schools Parliament.

In the morning the children met Councillor Paul Brant, Deputy Leader of Liverpool City Council and Peter Timmins, Director of Resources and Finance for Liverpool City Council. They explained how the Council makes decisions on how the budget is to be spent. The children then had the opportunity to ask questions.

Well done to Adriana, who then stood for Junior Lord Mayor along with 93 other candidates! Even though she didn't win, she gave a great speech and enjoyed the experience. Well done also to Charlotte W, Max E and Harry BL who attended the meeting and asked the City Councillors some very good questions.
