A broad and challenging curriculum that takes advantage of our unique ability to offer genuine continuity of education from 3 - 18 makes the Liverpool College classroom an exciting place to be. Even the youngest pupils are introduced to four modern foreign languages, including Mandarin Chinese, and the study of languages remains compulsory up to the age of 16. At GCSE and A level some of the most popular courses include the so-called 'difficult' disciplines of Economics, Maths and the Sciences as well as more practical subjects such as Business Studies, Music Technology and PE.

Public examination results consistently place Liverpool College among the top five schools on Merseyside and in recent years A and B grade passes at A level have been as high as 80% of all entries. The vast majority of students win places at their first-choice universities, including Oxford and Cambridge and the top medical schools, but we recognize that for some hard-working young people a simple pass is as much a cause for celebration as an A* might be for a high-flyer.

"When I came to the College just four years ago I never imagined that I would get A* and A grades in all of my GCSE examinations. I've worked hard, but I know that without the help of some really caring teachers I could never have achieved such amazing results."

We are extremely proud of our pupils' achievements in their examinations, but above all we aim to foster a sense of intellectual curiosity and a passion for knowledge. The very first line of all our teachers' job specifications makes it clear that their primary goal is to encourage a genuine enthusiasm for their subject. Our aim is to develop confident independent learners who have much more about them than just the ability to pass exams.
