The University of Liverpool is a pre-eminent research-based university with 18,000 students pursuing over 400 programmes spanning 54 subject areas. The University is a member of the Russell Group, the twenty top research universities in the United Kingdom which includes Oxford and Cambridge.

There are 3 faculties, including Health and Life Sciences; Humanities and Social Sciences; and Science and Engineering. These are organised into 35 departments and schools.

The Times ranks the University as the UK's 14th largest research university, with a top ten rating for research productivity and industrial grant income.

Non-EU pupils at Liverpool College can take advantage of our admission partnership with the University of Liverpool for non-clinical undergraduate programmes:

  • Pupils are guaranteed an offer from the University.
  • Pupils can apply directly to the University rather than through the centralised UCAS system.
  • Pupils enrolling at the University receive a fee reduction of £1000 per annum - the Liverpool College Award.
  • A further £1500 per annum merit scholarship is available to pupils who achieve A level scores of AAB or better (deducted from tuition fees).
  • The partnership links interested pupils with the International Officer and International Student Ambassador for their region for one-on-one advice and support.
  • The University organises a special visit day for Liverpool College students to sample University life.
  • Liverpool College pupils are also able to take advantage of special lectures and courses at the University. In 2010-2011, our Sixth Formers are offered the opportunity to take a university course in Logic and Philosophy.
