Year 11 pupils celebrated excellent results at the end August. The cohort achieved 45% A/A* grades, almost identical to last year, and 94.5% of candidates achieving A*-C, again very similar to last year. 90% of candidates achieved 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths, up slightly from last year's 85.7%.
Particularly impressive were the results in Physics and Chemistry where 72.7% of grades and 67.2% respectively were at A*/A.
Kate A, Claudia J- W and Henrietta C all achieved 10 A* grades. Connor K and Laura E achieved 9 A* grades.
We are very proud of the 26 pupils who achieved at least 6A/A* grades. But we are also proud of other exceptional performances where a pupil's hard work and determination led to hard-earned, very pleasing results. The list of such achievements is very long but Nicholas K, Daniel P and Harley M.

We celebrated excellent performances by our Year 13 pupils in the International Baccalaureate (IB) and A2 examinations this summer.
Because 67% of pupils in Year 13 sat the IB examinations and 33% sat A levels, the best and only way to make a meaningful comparison of overall and combined performance is through UCAS points. This year the total UCAS points average per candidate was 398 points the equivalent of A*A*A, up from 339 points in 2010 or the equivalent of AAB. This is the highest point total in the school's history.
In the IB, the average score was 33.2, more than four points higher than last year. The pass rate this year was a remarkable 100%. The pass rate internationally in the IB is 78% and the College pass rate last year was 80%.
47% of IB candidates scored 35 point or higher, last year 14% of candidates did. This year 25% of candidates achieved 38 or more points, the minimum entry grade for Oxbridge. Tom C, Gemma C, Antony W and Nick R all achieved 40 points or more. 47% of all grades were at level 6 or 7, the highest levels. Internationally only 27% of grades are at this level.
Our pupils' IB performance, when translated to the 2010 IB league tables, would place Liverpool College in the top 20 independent schools offering IB in the country.
At A level, we offered a small cohort a limited curriculum in seven subjects. Our A level pupils achieved a 97.5 percent pass rate and increased their UCAS total points average per candidate by a full 40 points. Jade F impressed particularly, achieving an A* in English.
College Principal, Hans van Mourik Broekman said: "We are delighted with these breathtaking results and remarkable improvement. They are a tribute to the hard work of our pupils and staff."
When the GCSE results are combined with our record IB and A level results and the concomitant success of our candidates in achieving their first choice university places, this has been a good examination year for the College.
