A Liverpool College education will certainly take you well
beyond the classroom. While we are justifiably proud of our
examination results, we recognise that young people grow in
confidence and maturity through challenge and opportunity, by
taking real responsibility and making real decisions.

The Combined Cadet Force boasts one of the strongest contingents
in the north of England. All three services are represented, the
Army, Navy and the RAF offering students opportunities to develop
leadership skills and to attain high level qualifications. Current
students hold flying and gliding scholarships and two recent
leavers were awarded full army scholarships for the duration of
their university courses.
"The camping, caving, adventure sports and mountaineering played a crucial role in their development. Travel abroad with the school was always an exciting experience and has sown the seed of a desire to travel and find out about the world"
The availability of expertise from the armed forces allows our
pupils to take on challenges around the world. More than a hundred
pupils are engaged in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, and
recent Gold Expeditions have taken place in the Peruvian Andes, the
Drakensberg mountains in South Africa and in the Himalayas.
The international dimension to the broader education we offer is
central to our philosophy. Each year a number of 14 year-olds
participate in exchanges to Australia and South America, and
further overseas links are being developed. There are three skiing
trips every year for pupils aged 9 - 18, work experience and study
visits to France and Spain, and frequent opportunities to study
cultures and societies very different from our own on visits to
countries as diverse as Russia and the USA.
We aim to prepare our young people to take their place in a
demanding, competitive and global society. We believe that this is
the + factor that gives our students the edge and guarantees that a
Liverpool College education is an education for life.
