The Royal Navy Section has grown into a thriving part of the CCF with 50 cadets participating in fortnightly watersports activities but also following the Proficiency and Advanced Proficiency specifications.

Sixth Form cadets help by teaching some classroom based topics to the younger cadets. This provides them with good evidence of responsibilitywhen applying for University.

Increasing numbers of cadets are now taking advantage of the opportunities provided at HMS Raleigh, Plymouth and HMS Excellent, Portsmouth, participating in power boating, dinghy sailing and cross channel expeditions with the added incentive of achieving an RYA qualification on completion.

The Royal Navy section encourages responsibility through promotion within its structure and the leadership courses and general camps are an integral part of this progress.

These experiences remain with the cadets for the rest of their lives.
