Well done to Kimberley, Year 4, who has just had her poem - Recipe for a Dragon - published on the website Poetryzone. Her poem is below:

Recipe for a Dragon
Capture breath as fiery as flames burning
from a volcano.
Peel the scales from a vicious, angry serpent that has just killed an intruder.
Steal a heart as humble and vicious as lightening to enemies that approach.
Add the wings caught from of a gigantic alien that fly up and spread out.
Grab a tail that flips, curls and swats from the core of
a burning sun.
Sharpen claws, turned spikey and metal, stolen from
a lion that roars.
Add a head, burning from a bull dunked in
thrashing larva.
Press on eyes dazzling like sparklers on bonfire night.
Place on the prickling ears of a monster straining to
hear his victims.
Throw round flames that are whirling and dancing
like fireworks.
Paint with colours purple, red and green, mixed
like dripping paint.
Screw down two spikes to the head, rounded
like elephants tusks.
Stir on a cool day or hot summer's eve,
Then mash the spare body parts together like
crushed biscuits.
Let him go free to gallop and fly.
Let him rest in a cave, with the close of an eye.
