Religious Education

Religious education is an important part of the curriculum at the Prep School.
The syllabus reflects the multi cultural and multi faith nature of the school while giving due recognition to the fact that Liverpool College has an Anglican Church foundation and the Christian religion, therefore, acts as the basis for school life and school worship.

We believe that the purpose of Religious Education is to help pupils understand the significance of religion and its contribution to their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Throughout Key Stage 2 all pupils will acquire and develop a knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other major World Religions. They will also have the opportunity to visit a number of the following places of worship, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral, the Anglican Cathedral, our local Parish Church, a Synagogue, a Hindu temple, a Mosque. This all helps to develop pupils' awareness of ideas and practices that are characteristic of most religions and also to identify similarities as well as differences.

We hope pupils will develop a positive attitude towards other people and their rights to hold beliefs different from their own and to live in a religiously diverse society.
