Outside academic lessons, Sixth Form students take part in and
usually play a leading role in a wide range of activities. Indeed,
this high level of participation and the willingness to take on
fresh challenges is expected as part of the Creativity, Action, and
Service component of the IB Diploma, and the Enrichment component
of the AQA Baccalaureate. Rugby, football, cricket, hockey and
netball are the key team sports, but we also have basketball,
badminton, tennis and a fully operative gym for our pupils to use.
There are community projects, Combined Cadet Force (CCF) programmes
and charity events in which Sixth Form students play an integral
role, as well as plenty of opportunities in areas such as drama,
music and art.
There are many opportunities to travel, from Russia to Peru, Canada
to New Zealand, as well as equally educational and memorable trips
to places closer to home such as London, Paris and Rome.
The Sixth Form is, after all, the culmination of any student's
time at school, and as such for most people these are the most
enjoyable and rewarding years of their school career.

"I have been in Liverpool College since I was eleven, when I left Carleton House preparatory school, where I had been used to a small, friendly environment. I thought that I would find the move to a large senior school very daunting; however, I adapted quickly thanks to the caring, individual attention I received here.
Throughout my time in school, I have been fortunate enough to be a member of various sports teams, visiting and competing at a high level around the UK, the Isle of Man and Ireland. However, after successfully taking my GCSEs in the summer of 2004, I thought I would test the water, and study in the sixth form of another school. After one week I very quickly realised how much I missed College life, and in particular the relationships between friends and teachers. I was very lucky to be able to return to the College and resume my studies as normal once again.
During my time within the Sixth Form, I have been privileged to take part in a once in a life time sports tour to South Africa. This not only served as a sporting experience but also a cultural eye-opener. This partly involved staying in luxurious hotels in such places as the renowned Sun City. However, this contrasted strongly with visits to townships and being hosted by South African families.
There have also been various activity holidays I have had the opportunity to participate in, such as the skiing trip to Austria. I am also an active member of the CCF which has enabled me to gain the rank of Colour Sergeant. This has aided in developing my leadership skills, which have been put into practice when attending army camps within the CCF around the country.
I am currently studying English Language, Art and Business Studies at A2. I feel that my all-round education at the College will stand me in good stead for the future, and has prepared me well to study Business at a Liverpool University."
