School Uniform Checklist for Girls and Boys in the Upper School with effect from September 2009

UPPER SCHOOL

All pupils are required to wear College uniform. All items must be clearly marked with the pupil's name. Cash's nametapes may be ordered from the College Shop, or any other suitable label may be used.

Standards of dress and appearance are expected to be smart and conventional. Boys' hair must be conventional in style and length: it should be above the collar and not a "number one" cut. Girls' hair, if shoulder length, must be tied back and ribbons must be either red or black. Jewellery, makeup and nail varnish are NOT allowed. A single pair of plain gold studs, one worn in each ear lobe, are the only earrings allowed. Of course pupils are encouraged to wear an inexpensive watch. The sixth form are allowed more freedom than younger pupils.

The College Shop, which is situated next to Liverpool College Pre-Prep, is the only official College uniform stockist; telephone 0151 724 2884; opening hours during term: Monday - Thursday 12.30-5.00pm, Friday 12.30 - 4.30pm. The Shop is normally closed during the Christmas and Easter holiday periods and also half-term holidays. Items marked with an asterisk* must be obtained from the College Shop, which will supply all other items on this list except Boys' and Girls' black shoes. Parents are advised to order early if special or unusual sizes are required.

Girl's Uniform from Years 7 to 11

*College badged blazer with red cord edging
*College red tartan kilt, below knee
*Plain white, open necked, revere collar blouse (may be short sleeved in summer)
*College black v-necked pullover (optional, to be worn under, not instead of, the blazer)
Plain black tights or black socks (knee length not mid calf or ankle length)
Plain black, smooth-soled, low-heel shoes of a conventional type and style
*College scarf (optional)
Outdoor coat. This must dark in colour (black, charcoal, navy or brown) with no logos, and longer than the blazer.
Plain black bag

PE and Games Clothing

White short sleeved polo shirt
House coloured polo shirt
*Black games/athletic briefs
*Black games skirt
White PE Shorts
*Liverpool College tracksuit
*Games socks
White short socks
Mainly white sports trainers cut below the ankle
*College Sports Bag (two sizes are available, the smaller one is recommended)
It is recommended that girls purchase an approved gumshield for hockey, and shinpads must be worn.

Boy's Uniform for Years 7 to 11

*College badged blazer with red cord edging
*House tie
*Grey conventional long trousers (GREY, not light grey or charcoal - ONLY the GREY COLOUR as stocked in Liverpool College Shop.
Plain white shirt (may be short sleeved in summer)
*College black v-necked sweater (optional: to be worn under, not instead of, the blazer)
Plain charcoal grey or black socks
Plain black, smooth-soled, low heel shoes of a conventional type and style. No soft top trainer type shoes.
*College scarf (optional)
Outdoor coat. This must dark in colour (black, charcoal, navy or brown) with no logos, and longer than the blazer.

Gumshields
It is recommended that pupils purchase an approved Gumshield for contact sports (Rugby, Hockey). In September you will receive information from the games department about ordering gumshields from O-Pro. Alternatively, you may wish to speak to your own dentist.
