We are a College which has at its heart people who care about your child, and who want the very best for him or her. The ethos of Liverpool College is encapsulated in the Mission Statement and amplified in the Home-School Agreement which all parents are asked to sign and review regularly during their child's time at the school. We are proud of our College and expect all pupils to play their part. The pupils are, after all, our best ambassadors and we hope that they will be proud to be Lerpoolians.
Our pupils take no time to realise that the College is not just a school, but a way of life! We aim to encourage all pupils to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities, which help to develop personal, sporting, technical and social skills and which are an essential component of our educational philosophy.
This September the College will take possession of the new Middle School building as part of the planned transition and younger pupils will be based here from September under the leadership of the Head of Middle School, Mr Fox. The Upper School (Years 9-11) and Sixth Form (Years 12-13) will be based on the current site under the leadership of Mr Griffith and Mr Brady respectively. The greatly expanded campus does present some logistical challenges, and to reduce time lost in movement between lessons we have amended the school day, which now comprises a cycle of fifty periods over two week, with five sixty-five minute lessons each day.
This year, we are also introducing a learner profile in all parts of Liverpool College. The profile is intended to provide a clear framework of expectations and goals for staff, pupils and parents. It shows pupils the sort of learner we want to inspire them to become. The profile makes clear that our teaching and activities at the College aim to challenge your child and inspire him or her to extend themselves in every area of school life.
My earnest hope is that your child will flourish at Liverpool College and will feel fulfilled here. If problems arise, please be assured that I and my staff are here to do something about them.
