Welcome to Boarding at Liverpool College

Boarding halls

Liverpool College offers boarding for 18 boys and girls aged 16-19 in our two boarding houses immediately adjacent to the Upper School campus. Our boarders come from every part of the globe. Our aim is to create a fully integrated boarding programme which meets the pastoral needs and academic ambitions of our pupils using all the resources of our school, the city of Liverpool, and our partner the University of Liverpool.

We offer a Pre-A level one year Foundation Course which prepares pupils to succeed in their A level studies. This programme is tailored to the specific needs of a pupil and can include English language study, GCSE as well as AS-level study.

We also offer a full range of A-levels to boarders.

Boarders are fully integrated into the school, playing a part in our House system and joining in the activities and life of the school.

Pastoral care is provided by a team of six teachers, under the direction of our Head of Boarding, Mrs Liz Kendall ekendall@liverpoolcollege.org.uk. Our staff resides in flats in the boarding houses creating a caring and supportive community. A full range of weekend activities includes trips to other cities, cultural events, and outdoor pursuits. The relative small size of the boarding programme ensures excellent pastoral care, guidance, and support.

Our partnership with the University of Liverpool and our own Careers and University programme provides pupils with UCAS guidance and counselling about their higher education options. Boarders take advantage of the courses and programmes we offer in conjunction with the University.

We are happy to discuss what we offer with prospective pupils and, when possible, host a visit to the school. Please email or contact our registrar Mrs Sally Loveridge sloveridge@liverpoolcollege.org.uk (44) 151 724 4000.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Yours sincerely,

Hans van Mourik Broekman
Principal
