Geography Field Trip

24th -26th April 2010

A group of 18 students travelled to the Peak District National Park, their task to survey the River Dane for their coursework project. Starting on the boggy moor that is the source of this river, over the next two days they followed it down through the hills and recorded its vital statistics. Wading into icy water, picking up slimy stones, walking across the hills to get to the river: all of these challenges were tackled with enthusiasm and determination by the students, and plenty of high quality data was obtained for their projects.

The Youth Hostel was very welcoming and the food excellent, and the weather was pretty good too. All in all a successful and enjoyable trip.
