Role Model Week

Liverpool College was delighted to welcome 32 relatives into the school this week to help celebrate National Role Model week. Parents, grandparent, brothers, sisters and even uncles very kindly volunteered to take part in a special event to talk about their career, what skills are required to succeed in that career and what subjects in school pupils would need to develop if they wished to be successful in that career. Studies have shown that if children are able to make links between the world of work and school subjects, this has an extremely positive impact upon attitude to learning, motivation and attainment. It’s never too early to start thinking about their future.

From engineers to entertainers, musicians to midwives, programmers to paramedics, firefighters to financiers – a myriad of professions was showcased to educate and inspire our pupils.

Our heartfelt thanks to all for getting involved and giving up your time so generously.
