Future Chef Training

The Kickstart programme is a 3 week training programme for young people 16+.

Future Chef is an entire programme that aims to support young people into a worthwhile career as a chef within a thriving industry.

The programme provides students with, minimum, 2 industry recognised qualifications, and it develops their employability skills, works on their confidence and advises them about the vast wealth of careers available to them. The second part of the Kickstart Programme is a 2 week work experience placement in industry. So not only are these young people newly trained but they have relevant industry work experience!

County Hockey Champions

The Senior hockey team were successful this afternoon at the U18 County Tournament.  It was disappointing to only see 3 teams there, but they were the strongest 3 teams, so competition was good.  In the first match, Liverpool College faced Merchant Taylors.  It was a closely fought match with chances at either end.  There were some excellent link up play between Lydia W, Kirsten B and Eva B but we could not convert our chances.  We came close with a penalty corner from Orla N, but failed to convert.  Jasmine P was excellent in goal, preventing Merchant Taylors from scoring and the game finished 0-0.

U15 7's squad just miss out on glory in Manchester

Thursday's snowfall would not deter our resilient U15 rugby squad from travelling over to the Audenshaw 7's tournament and going up against some of the best schools in the north.  

Wins came against Bury Grammar and West Hill with narrow losses against the hosts Audenshaw and then Stockport GS, the favourites to win the event.

Every member of the squad put their 'body on the line' and team spirit was superb going in to the plate final against a strong Kirkham Grammar side.  

Could they scoop the prize?  Thomas, Cain and Wilson had been 'on fire' all day ..... Could this Kirkham side 'put them out???' The troops were rallied by coaches Lavender and Muscatelli

Year 1Q Pizza Express Trip

Year 1Q had fun on Thursday 1st March when they visited Pizza Express on World Book Day.  The children enjoyed making their pizza and learning all about the different spices.
