Chapter 7 and 8 pupils raise awareness for Prostate Cancer UK

Before half term pupils from Chapter 7 and 8 had been fundraising, raising awareness and promoting a healthy lifestyle by running a lap around Sefton Park during their personal development games time. Many families have supported this initiative by bringing in a small donation throughout the week which will be donated to the charity Prostate Cancer UK. Well done to all involved.

Forty-two pupils in sports trip of a lifetime to the Real Madrid first team training ground

During the half term holiday, forty-two pupils have spent six days on a sports trip to the Spanish capital of Madrid. The trip consisted of four training sessions at the Real Madrid training ground being coached by some of the best academy coaches in the world. Pupils also had lunch in the training ground restaurant and on one of the sessions they were joined by the official team photographer of Real Madrid. The pupils also enjoyed six matches in Madrid, a training session at a local grassroots club, a walk around the parks of Madrid, a visit to a shopping centre and a meal in a city centre restaurant. The behaviour of the pupils was exemplary throughout the trip which impressed the staff and coaches of Real Madrid. This was a dream trip that pupils will never forget.

Merseyside and Cheshire Engineering Leaders' Awards.

We have had the results from the Merseyside and Cheshire Engineering Leaders' Awards. Pupils needed to think of a real-world problem and design a solution to the problem, including writing a persuasive pitch letter to accompany the entry. I am delighted to announce we have 14 category winners, with winners ranging from Year 3 to Year 10. We also had 10 highly commended entries. This is an extraordinary success. All winners have been invited to attend a special award ceremony, where they will be presented with certificate and trophies. Their work, along with all short- listed entries, will be showcased in a gallery at Edge Hill University on 13 June. Congratulations to all.
