The College is proud is of its history. Our school played an important role in the growth and development of the city of Liverpool and in bringing educational opportunity and excellence to the city.

Old Huytonians

Huyton College was founded in 1894 as the sister school to Liverpool College and continued until 1993 when it merged with Liverpool College.

At Liverpool College PTA, we aim to bring parents and the college closer together to work as one, for the benefit of the college pupils.

Learning with Character

In 1840, Liverpool College was founded on a commitment to educate the whole person. Although we made this pledge over 170 years ago, it has never been more relevant than now.

Our Curriculum – LCA+

We pursue our mission of Learning with Character through the LCA+ curriculum. LCA+ is a challenging, broad and engaging curriculum consisting of seven academic and subject strands and seven strands of personal and social education and development.

Admissions

We educate children from 4 – 18 years old and welcome applications from parents both within and outside the Liverpool area.

BOARDING PROVISION CONSULTATION

Liverpool College consulted with all its stakeholders on a proposal to make a change to our school by closing our boarding provision from 1 September 2026. You can click here to read about the consultation process that was undertaken.

Following the end of the consultation period, the governing body decided to proceed with the decision to close the boarding provision.
